Eight things to play with.
Built to be used.

Every object in the kit was picked for one reason: it can become something else. The magnifier is a detective’s lens one night, a tiny explorer’s shield the next. A token is evidence Tuesday and a stepping stone on Wednesday. The kit doesn’t change. The story does.

No. 01

Magnifier

Glass lens · metal frame · fits in a small hand

The first tool of every detective who ever lived. A magnifier doesn’t just show things bigger — it tells your child that what they’re looking at is worth looking at carefully. Tonight it inspects a fingerprint on the kitchen counter. Tomorrow it examines a strange leaf in the backyard. Next week it reads the markings on a wizard’s ring.

No. 02

Adventure Log

Kraft cover · blank pages · pocket size

A real notebook with real paper, made to be filled with sketches, theories, maps, and the notes from every adventure. The log is where the child becomes the storyteller. Years from now, this becomes the artifact that proves what they imagined.

No. 03

Wooden tokens (set of 24)

Laser-etched wood · in a cotton pouch

Twenty-four small wooden disks with simple symbols: a star, an eye, an anchor, a tree, a key, a moon. The story engine gives each token a different meaning every adventure. They’re evidence in a mystery, gold in a treasure hunt, runes in a magic spell, footprints in a chase.

No. 04

Pocket compass

Working compass · fits in a pocket

A real working compass, not a toy. North is north. Every adventure can use it: as a navigator on a treasure hunt, as a clue (the compass spins wildly near the magic stone), as a way to send your child to a specific room. The real object grounds the imagined story.

No. 05

Cipher wheel

Laser-cut wood · two-disc decoder

A working substitution-cipher decoder. The story engine generates a coded message; the child uses the wheel to crack it. The first time a kid realizes they can read a secret message they couldn’t read a minute ago is one of the best feelings in childhood. We built the kit around that moment.

No. 06

Lantern Cards (set of 36)

Illustrated cards · printed on heavy stock

Thirty-six illustrated cards — characters, locations, objects, creatures. The story tells the child to draw a card at a key moment, and the card becomes part of the adventure. The same card means different things in different worlds. The drawn fox is a witness in a mystery, a guide in a forest, a thief in a fairy tale.

No. 07

Old key

A real vintage skeleton key · each kit’s is different

A weighty old key that opens nothing in the real world and everything in the imagined one. The key to the dragon’s vault. The key to the locked diary. The key the child finds hidden under the pillow. Every adventure ends with the key — that’s the ceremony. The child knows the story’s climax has arrived when the key comes out.

No. 08

Scroll paper

Aged kraft paper · rolled

A piece of warmly aged paper for maps, ransom notes, treasure plans, and prophecies. The grown-up draws the map; the child reads it. Or the child draws the map and the next adventure starts with their own creation.

The box itself.

A simple wooden box. Meant to be handled.

Each kit is hand-assembled in Milwaukee. The box is a small wooden slide-top or hinged box — sometimes maple, sometimes a vintage cigar box we’ve cleaned up and stamped with the fox mark. No two are exactly the same. Nothing about it is too precious to carry around, drop, scribble on, or open over and over again.

That’s the point.

The app stays in your hands.
The kid never touches a screen.

Lantern uses AI to write the adventure. But the AI never talks to your child. It only helps the grown-up set the scene.

What’s next.

One kit. A whole world to come.

Lantern is the beginning. Buy this kit and you’re joining an ecosystem that grows every season.
